Written in a time of ever greater division, this beguiling love poem celebrates two lovers’ almost mystical union
Meeting Point
Time was away and somewhere else,
There were two glasses and two chairs
And two people with the one pulse
(Somebody stopped the moving stairs):
Time was away and somewhere else,
Without heroics, without belief,
I send you, as I am not rich,
Nothing but odds and ends a thief
Bundled up in the last ditch.
